Malang, located a three-hour drive from Surabaya, is renowned for its mild climate. It remains a popular destination for international tourists and is home to numerous historical relics. Situated on a plateau and surrounded by mountains, Malang boasts a rich cultural heritage that helps it maintain its status as a tourism hub.

Batu City, or Kota Batu, is recognized as one of Indonesia’s top tourist destinations thanks to its remarkable natural beauty. Surrounded by mountains, the city offers a diverse array of attractions, including historical sites, shopping, educational experiences, and natural areas. As a rising destination, it is ideal for families with young children or the elderly looking to connect with nature.

Day 01 :

Surabaya – Madakaripura Waterfall

1. Pick up from your hotel in Surabaya / Juanda International Airport / Surabaya Train Station before 10am. If you are already in Surabaya, we will pick you up from your hotel at 9am.

2. Travel 3 hours to Madakaripura Waterfall.

3. Explore Madakaripura Waterfall for 2–3 hours.

4. Have lunch along the way to your accommodation.

5. Check into Bromo Terrace Hotel & Resto Or Manis Ae Cabin & Resto Bromo. You will stay here for 1 night. *We will use another hotel of similar standard if this hotel is unavailable.

Day 02 :

Mount Bromo – Malang

1. Pick up from the hotel at 2am.

2. Travel 1 hour via a private 4WD jeep to Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park.

3. Have a light meal at a nearby shop before hiking.

4. Hike for 10–15 minutes to reach the sunrise viewpoint.

5. Watch the spectacular sunrise (There are many viewpoints nearby. Our guide will bring you to the viewpoint that is less crowded – all have similar views).

6. Return to the 4WD jeep after sunrise and travel 30 minutes to the Sea of Sand for photo taking.

7. Travel 30 minutes to another part of the Sea of Sand.

8. Walk 30–45 minutes or ride on a horse (optional) to reach the foot of Bromo Crater.

9. Climb 250 flight of stairs for 10–15 minutes to reach the rim of Bromo Crater.

10. Return to your jeep at around 8–9am.

11. Return back to the hotel, have breakfast and check out latest by 12pm.

12. Travel 2-3 hours to Malang.

13. Visit Kampung Warna Warni Jodipan – the different murals of varying colours to brighten up the neighbourhood.

14. Visit Kayutangan Area where you can find Malang Heritage, Splendid Market, Chairul Anwar Statue and more.

15. Check into Atria Hotel Malang. You will stay here for 2 nights. *We will use another hotel of similar standard if this hotel is unavailable.

*Milky Way Tour: If you choose this option (+SGD 30/pax), we will pick you up at 10pm on Day 1 instead of 2am on Day 2. You will take a jeep down to the Sea of Sand and be brought to various photo-taking spots. **Please inform your guide to bring you to another spot if you’re not satisfied, we’ll try our best to accommodate within the given time**. After that, you will stay at Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park until sunrise. Kindly note that the best time to see the milky way is during the NEW moon period. The Milky Way Tour is highly dependent on weather conditions so the opportunity to see the Milky Way is NOT guaranteed. Additionally, it is non-refundable.

Day 03 :

Malang – Free & Easy at Batu

This day is kept free and easy for you to enjoy what Batu has to offer. Below are some recommended activities (within 100km round trip):

1. Florawisata Santeria De Laponte – Tourist attraction with a flower garden nuance that provides various interesting photo spots and various game rides for visitors.

2. Museum Angkut & Batu Floating Market – Museum with over 300 collections of types of traditional to modern transportation. Within it is Indonesia’s first floating market too.

3. Indonesia Safari Park II Prigen – A vast, drive-through park offering close-up views of various wild animals, along with live shows and rides.

4. Batu Night Spectacular (BNS) – Amusement park operating at night with rides, live shows, carnival games & a market.

5. Jawa Timur Park 1/2/3 – Recreation and learning parks, perfect for kids!

6. Wonosori Tea Plantation – Peaceful retreat amidst lush tea fields that offers stunning views and guided tours.

*Please note that we cannot cover ALL of the attractions mentioned due to time limitations. You can choose up to three attractions you’d like to visit. The detailed itinerary for the day can be discussed further with your guide, and we will do our best to accommodate your preferences.

Day 04 :

Malang – Surabaya

1. Pick up and check out of the hotel at 9am.

2. Travel 2-3 hours back to Surabaya.

3. Visit Suro and Boyo Statue. The most famous icons of Surabaya consisting of two types of animals, shark and crocodile.

4.(Optional) Drop by Lapis Kukus Pahlawan, Diponegoro to bring back some highly rated kueh lapis for your friends and family.

5. Have lunch at a nice recommended local cuisine restaurant (i.e. Depot Bu Rudy Dharmahusada). *Kindly note that for this tour package lunch fee is NOT included.

6. Visit Sanggar Agung Temple (Hong San Tang). A Chinese temple dedicated to Chinese deities and other Asian religious icons.

7. Visit Hotel Majapahit. A historical hotel with elegant architecture and immaculate gardens landscape. *Kindly note that visitors must make a reservation in 1 or 2 days before for the hotel tour which starts at 2-4pm. However, you are still able to explore the grounds without joining the tour.

8. Go to Tunjungan plaza for some shopping. This is the first and the biggest shopping mall in the center of Surabaya City.

9. Drop you off at your hotel in Surabaya / Juanda International Airport / Surabaya Train Station by 6pm.

Can I customise the itinerary?

Yes. We can customise the itinerary if you wish to add or remove any attractions in our pre-made itinerary. You can also inform our guide on the day of your tour if you decide not to visit a certain attraction.

What should I prepare before flying?

A passport with a minimum of 6 months validity and travel insurance are a must. For other essentials, we will send you a packing list after you book your tour with us.

Where should I fly to?

The nearest international airport to Mount Bromo is Juanda International Airport in Surabaya. You can also start the tour from Bali or Yogyakarta.

Is airport transfer included?

A 2-way airport transfer service is included in all our tour packages. On Day 1, we will pick you up at Surabaya airport at your arrival time. If you are already in Surabaya, we will pick you up at your hotel at 9am instead. On the last day, we will drop you off at the airport.

Can I view the Milky Way at Mount Bromo?

Yes. You can request for the optional Milky Way tour. We’ll pick you up at 10pm from your lodge to Cemoro Lawang. You will then head to nearby peaks such as Mount Penanjakan, Mentigen Hill, Kingkong Hill or Seruni Point and the Sea of Sand where you can view the Milky Way. Avid photographers should bring suitable camera equipment as well. You would then continue with the standard itinerary to view the sunrise at Mount Bromo. This will cost an additional of SGD 50/pax, on top of your current tour package.

Why are entrance fees not included?

Entrance fees have various pricing for locals, foreigner and peak periods. It also gives you more flexibility as you can choose not to go to the attraction when you are on the tour and reduces the hassle for refund afterwards.

How much is the horse ride at Mount Bromo?

A round trip costs around 200,000 – 250,000 IDR (from the Sea of Sand to the rim of Bromo crater and back). Do note that the horse ride ends near the start of the stairs to the Mount Bromo crater. You will still have to climb about 250 flight of stairs up to the crater. The horse ride is entirely optional and you can choose to walk across the sea of sand, which most visitors do. Do negotiate with the horsemen to get a better deal.

How much money do I need during the trip?

Generally, our tours are all inclusive except for entrance fees, lunch and dinner during the tour.

For lunch and dinner expenses, you can budget it at around 70,000 IDR/meal (about SGD 6). However, this amount greatly depends on what you order and where you dine.

Can we hike instead of taking the jeep up to the viewpoint?

No. Mount Bromo is very dark and cold in the night. We do not allow our customers to hike solely on foot for safety concerns, unless you’ve reached the entrance of the sunrise viewpoint.

Are there any other essential items to bring along?

Sunglasses and sunblock lotion are highly recommended – the sun rays can be harsh and at high altitude, it is easy to get sunburnt even though the surrounding temperature is cold. The terrain is very sandy – wearing a face mask is also recommended for protection (akin to walking in a desert). If you are visiting the waterfalls, please bring along wet gears such as swim suits with t-shirt and shorts, water booties/covered sandals, spectacle hooks, waterproof cover for your phone/camera which can be secured to your body, change of clothes and towel.

Do I have to trek to Madakaripura Waterfalls?

Our vehicle will first drop you at the parking lot of Madakaripura Waterfalls, where you will hop to a motorbike (Ojek) for a short 5 minutes ride to the entrance. Then, you need to do a trek of around 30 minutes (2km) to reach the waterfalls.

Can I swim at Madakaripura Waterfalls?

Swimming is no longer allowed at the waterfalls since 2018 but you will still get drenched. For footwear, we highly recommend covered rubber shoes or sandals.
